 INFRASTRUCTURE

All the assets of a major port

The Norlanda programme is dedicated to businessmen with a pioneering spirit. Pioneers, who know how to benefit from all the economic and structural advantages that a company boss could dream of: a ready made infrastructure which lives up to the ambitions of their project.

The installation of landing stages and a high capacity travelling lift is already planned. Other specific facilities will be added as the programme evolves, according to the needs of business that relocate to the development zones. Plots covering many acres and stretches of water are available! Hundreds of metres of quayside along the banks of a current and tide free ship canal, safe from passing cargo ships and, with a permanent depth of more than eight metres and headroom of thirty-five metres, safely navigable by racing yachts and other large sailing boats.

The redevelopment of the site meant that it was possible to christen new areas of marine activity with evocative names like “Quai du large”, the home the Yachts Industries boatyard, V1D2 and Artech, and the “ Grand Canal” business zone, which is home to the ACM Group.

The installation of landing stages and a high capacity travelling lift is already planned. Other specific facilities will be added as the programme evolves, according to the needs of business that relocate to the development zones.

Today, 13,000 sq.m of buildings are given over to house the “ Dumont d’Urville” business incubator for start-ups, centrally located in the “Quai du large” marine business park. This site, which already includes office space and modular business units, is also equipped with ten travelling cranes, which are capable of moving loads from 1.5 to 5 tonnes.

The site will be fully open by late 2005.
